Staying at the Hotel Beausoleil
right at the base of the main ski area
(Ski in - Ski out).
Jedburgh Grammar School ski trip takes place every two years.
Our last trip was in January of this year.
It was very successful and enjoyable.
We are looking ahead to January 2012 when we will again take a group of youngsters to the French ski resort of Alpe d’Huez.
A provisional booking for 30 pupils has been made with the ski company Ski Plan.
We may also be able to extend an invitation to adults who are interested in experiencing this exhilarating and enjoyable sport for themselves along side their children.
To book a place on this trip an initial deposit of £80.00 is required.
A second deposit of £120.00 is required by Friday 25th February 2011.
Thereafter payments can be made as regularly as you choose. However…..
The trip must be paid for in full by the end of September 2011.
All meals, accommodation, equipment, travel and ski lessons provided.
- Pupils attend lessons for two hours each day provided by the french ski school and then they wil be under the guidance of the skitrip staff.
- Lessons will be given on the J.G.S. Ski slope prior to departure so that pupils will get most benefit from their time in france.
- Evening entertainment may include skating or swimming in the outdoor pool or other activities inside the hotel itself such as a disco or quiz night.
The reason for booking so early is so that parents have the opportunity to save up, for this as as you can see it is quite pricey, but there are benefits:
- the hotel is at the base of the main ski area (it would theoretically be possible to ski into the hotel basement!)
- transfer times from grenoble to resort is only 2 hours
- to return to the hotel at lunchtime providing the opportunity to relax and refuel
Pupils will have the opportinity to share experiences with other pupils from other border schools who willl be there in this hotel at the same time.
Important point to note that trip deposits are non-refundable.
