SOCIAL EDUCATION
All pupils in the school have a timetabled slot of Social Education which is taken by the Guidance Staff or other volunteer teachers.
The Social Education programme has been devised by the Guidance Team and it is constantly reviewed and revised to take acount of the changes in society.
It is an essential part of personal development of young people but it is not the sole part since much work in this respect goes on in other parts of the curriculum.
Social Education contains such elements as personal relationships, health education including sex education, safety, careers advice, etc and approaches these topics using a mixture of group discussion, role play, outside speakers and written work.
Further information on this important area is available from the Assistant Rector (Guidance).
