S3/S4

The idea of a 'core' of subjects continues into S3/S4 though an element of choice is introduced.

This structure has been laid down by the Scottish Parliament and Scottish Borders Council but corresponds closely to the path Jedburgh Grammar school was already following.

S3 pupils will study English and Mathematics together with up to six other subjects from a wide range.  There will also be core subjects of Religious Education, Physical Education, Study Skills and Enterprise.  The work covered in Social Education is increasingly geared towards areas such as the world of work, relationships and responsibility in preparation for life outside school.
