The opening hours of the library are as follows: -
Monday - Friday 8.50 a.m. – 12.05 p.m. and 12.50 p.m. - 3.35 p.m.
The library is situated on the 1st floor of the Thomson Building and is a bright, spacious and attractive area with seating for 50 pupils. The library is staffed by Mrs Welsh, the School Librarian.
It holds approximately 7,500 resources divided into various categories. They include Reference; Careers material; Non-fiction; Fiction; Local; Audio and a small number of DVDs. There are also newspapers and magazines available on a separate display unit.
The ICT area contains 10 computers all with Internet access. Pupils are welcome to use the computers at intervals and lunchtimes and may also be brought by teaching staff throughout the school day. A booking system is in operation if staff wish to reserve computers during class time and pupils are welcome to reserve a machine at morning interval or for a 20 minute slot at lunchtime.
Pupils are allowed to borrow 2 books at any one time. Books can be borrowed for 3 weeks while other resources have a limited borrowing time.

Entry for year groups has been restricted to the following: - 
1st and 2nd years Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
3rd and 4th years Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
5th and 6th years are allowed entry on any day.
N.B. All years are allowed entry on Fridays.
